Take a Look at Proof Reading Jobs

A lot of us have taken to the internet to seek jobs. There are plenty of opportunities out there for anyone who’s primary language is English and who love to read. There are many proof reading jobs out there because there is an increasing amount of content being published on the internet. This type of work is great for some extra money, or even as a full time job if you want it to be.

If you’re new to the whole proof reading job arena, then you’re going to want to take some online proofreading courses. This will help round out your skill set, and make you look like you’re serious about getting ajob in this industry. Empolyers will tend to favor those with education and experience in proof reading even over those with college degrees.

You can do this job from anywhere, as long as you are strcit about keeping deadlines. This work is done on the internet, so while it is a great work at home type job, it can also be a work from the beach job if you want. You can also flex this job around whatever schedule you have, as long as you keep those deadlines.

If you don’t want to work that much, you don’t have to. You have complete control over how much you work. This also means you have complete control over how much money you make. If you need more money, work more, if you need a break, take a break. The one downfall of this is that there are no sick days or vacation time when you work for yourself.

If you prove yourself as a great proof reader, you might even be able to move up to a content writer, or even an editor if you want to. Really, the choices in this field of online content are essentially limitless.

Help with Spell Checking

Oh what fun the social experiment would be to disable all spell checkers for one week. To allow everyone to show their true abilities when it comes to phonics and decoding words. After all, there is a large percentage of words that we have memorized, but there are plenty that we have completely dependent on spell checking to help us with. In much the same way that calculators have contributed to worsening math skills and texting has affected grammar skills, an online spell checker is the main cause of poor spelling skills. My spelling was bad enough, no doubt. There are four or five words that despite frequently referencing a dictionary I still misspell. I imagine that at the end of that week, when that social experiment was over, that people would see online spell checkers as the second coming. Could you imagine the profit by a company who could provide the checkers during this time?
